Lewiswood Cavaliers was established in 1996 when Sheeba Sparkling Saphire (Sophie) came to us from Karin Ostmann, Sheeba Cavaliers. Sophie was the foundation for Lewiswood Cavaliers. We discovered Cavaliers in the 70's and had a dream of finding the right Cavalier.

In l993 after losing our beloved English Springer Spaniel, Lucky, we decided to begin our search for our Cavalier. After reading and learning about the breed, we began to talk with breeders to learn about their dogs. Our search led us to Karin Ostmann and her Sheeba Cavaliers. We learned that some of Karin's lovely dogs were imported from Veronica Hull of Telvara Cavaliers in the UK. Veronica's dogs are known for their longevity, health and beauty.

We were very fortunate to get started with Karin. She is known throughout the country for her wonderful Cavaliers. A year later Sheeba Venus (Susie) joined Sophie at Lewiswood Cavaliers. Susie would become our first Champion and Sophie would produce our first litter of puppies. In Sophie's second litter, she produced our homebred stud dog, Lewiswood Sir Zachary (Zack). He has sired many outstanding, typey and healthy offspring including champions. Zack has the excellent temperament and beauty you can expect from a Lewiswood Cavalier.

Sheeba Somebody Special (JJ) who was sired by CH. Sheeba Special Edition (James) came to Lewiswood Cavaliers in 2002. After completing his championship he became certified as a Pet Partner with Delta Society. He is a natural at therapy work because of his excellent temperament. In March 2003, Telvara Kafe Au Lait (Darcy) and Telvara Prima Donna (Izzy) arrived from Veronica Hull to join the Lewiswood Cavaliers. It was a very special day when Darcy and Izzy became a part of Lewiswood Cavaliers. We thank Veronica Hull and Karin Ostmann for the quality of our foundation and their dedication to the breed.
