Our puppies here at Lewiswood Cavaliers are bred with the utmost care giving attention to temperament, outstanding health, and the breed standard. Our Cavaliers are tested annually by a board certified ophthalmologist and a board certified cardiologist to make sure eyes and hearts are clear of any genetic problems. Our pet puppies are sold with limited papers which means they can not be bred or shown. They are registered with CKCSC, USA and AKC.

Nutrition is equally important to us as socialization. Our pups are fed a natural raw diet. For more information about the food we use, you can go to Healthy Pet Products www.healthypetdiet.com . We have been feeding a raw diet for over 8 years and have found puppies raised this way to be of exceptional health. Socialization is extremely important to the success of a puppy in his new home whether he/she is a pet or show puppy. My puppies are socialized in my kindergarten classroom where they learn children are gentle, kind and fun to have around.

They will spend several mornings in the classroom before leaving us. Our puppies and all of our dogs live in our home. Our kitchen becomes the puppy's first playground and later learns about the world outside of the kitchen. Potty training begins at 5 weeks, ensuring that when he/she leaves us they are well on their way to understanding how to take care of this important job. House training is one of the most critical things for a puppy to learn and it has to be started at an early age.

Our pups leave with a good understanding of where pottying is to take place. If our methods are continued, house training becomes a breeze. We send the puppy to his/her new home with a packet of information about house training, vaccinations, grooming, and diet. We require our new puppy owners to be willing to continue feeding the food and supplements that the puppy has been eating. This makes the transition from our home to their new home very smooth.
